- provides disabled people living, working and learning in the London Borough of Lewisham with a range of services,
- enables all disabled people in Lewisham to participate in the Centre's activities at the level of their choice, and
- promotes and develops new services as determined by disabled members of CILL
The Centre of Independent Living will provide a range of services including:
- Advocacy
- Counselling
- Mediation
- Direct Payments' User Group
- Access Audit
- Disability Equality Training
- Volunteering
- Information
- Publications
- Advice
The Centre of Independent Living's Action Programme is based on a social model of disability. Disabled people are not a problem; the problem is a society that invests little or nothing to include us.
Disabled people want to live in an inclusive society alongside non-disabled people and to enjoy the same rights to participate in ordinary human activities.
